3000 watts and a single 15 isn't going to get you anywhere without a properly designed enclosure.
someone with two 10s,1000 watts, and a superior enclosure can be louder than you

I went through these guys http://www.4alterstart.com/
I bought a 220 amp in the stock case for $300 new with a lifetime warranty. They can put a higher amperage motor (or whatever it is) into your stock size case.
They have an Ebay store as well http:///Alterstart_W0QQcolZ4QQdirZ1QQfsubZQ2d999QQftidZ2QQtZkm

First, their "lifetime warranty" in not one at all. If they have to repair or replace the first one you bought, you pay freight both ways, and the repair or replacement has a one year warranty on it. I know this from MY experience with them. They looked good on the surface...
And B: eBay links don't work on the12volt. It's in the terms you agreed to when you signed up. It's amazing to me how many people really DON'T read what's put in front of them... I guess it's why lawyers make such a good living, protecting people from plain English contracts placed in front of them to read and sign.

Oops, clearly I just skimed the rules. I'lll know for next time though.

That sucks. In your experience  was the alternator from Alterstart any good? How long did it last before you had a problem with it?

It lasted about a year, maybe 18 months... It actually died withing about 3 months the FIRST time, I was told it'd be a drop-in, and it wasn't. It took modifications, and when it failed, they replaced it "this time only". They WERE good enough to actually replace it with a CORRECT one, after I paid the 170 dollar difference, but that one only lasted a year. After the second sting, I just took the thing apart, and I am trying to located the necessary repair parts (regulator and diode bridge) to fix it myself to have a spare. There really is nothing to them... it's all hardware, and pretty easy to fix, and now I have my OWN lifetime warranty. cheaper solutions to ho alternator? - Page 2 - Last Post -- posted image.
Speaking of which, anybody know where I can order internal voltage regulators and diode bridges? Nearly all of the alternator rebuilders I have checked with either won't sell, or don't have the parts I need...

Damn. Guess I'm stuck rolling the dice now. I've rebuilt an alternator or two so if something goes worng and they don't want to fix it I can give that a shot. I could aways make the 200amp spare for my 240Z work with a pully swap and some fab work to the bracket.

Dave, you might be able to order diodes directly from Tricon:  http://www.triconinc.com/emd/products/automotive/diodes.shtml
