I am trying to intall an after-market oil pressure gause to replace the "idiot light" on my dash. The electric gauge I purchased has a sending unit with two signal wire pins, and came with two connectors. The gauge itself only has one signal "in" wire. If I hook up the gauge, I get two totally different reading from the different pins - neither seems totally correct. The instructions with the gauge are useless (only show one pin).

Should both pins be hooked up at the same time - and to the same signal "in" wire?

Any thoughts?

One lead from the sensor needs to go to the Gauge and the other lead needs to be grounded.

Thanks for the reply.

Grounding the second terminal is one thing I have not tried. I thought it just grounded through the actual sending unit-to-engine block threaded fitting. When I did a continuity test (prior to installation) between the threaded fitting and the terminals, both made the tester light up - so both terminals are at least somewhat grounded through the block (I don't know?), but maybe the resistance is different.

Either way, I'll connect the second terminal to a good ground and see waht happens.

Thanks again - Z.
