I recently installed a viper 591xv remote start in an 04 Taurus and  have been pulling my hair out ever since because it KEEPS COMING BACK!. It seems to shutdown at random times (1,2,-5 min) after being remote started. Adjusted the tach threshold, still no improvement. The tach wire is reading fine both at the car and at the remote start.  I checked the diagnostics and it is triggering the shutdown from low RPM.  I have already tried changing out the unit.  I put it on voltage sense but cant get the crank time right where the starter wont continue to crank after it has started.  I'm getting quite frustrated with this.  Any suggestions?  All input would be appreciated in this matter.

Thanks for the time,

One annoyed installer

Where did you catch the tach. ford's coil sometimes "shuts down" after a few minutes. My rule of thumb is Chrysler = coil Ford = injector. This seems to work all of the time for me. I had this same problem a while back on a focus that another installer worked on. Sure enough the tach was caught at the coil. Changed the tach and it worked fine.

Thanks!!!!!!  I took the tach at the coil.  So I'll move it. And we'll see.

On taurus's I grab tan / YELLOW inside the car, it's in the drivers kick panel coming out of a square brown connector block.
