Hi i recently installed a remote star system in my 2002 chevy cavalier, the problem is the car starts for 5 sec. then turns off it then starts again and turns off. what could be the problem?? Im thinking its somthing to do with the tach wire, i connected it to the PURPLE / white wire comming out of the PCM. Anyone know how to correct this?

Thanks

Radiostar have problems with remote starting, expecially in the cold.  Sold through surplus store I believe.

Sit in the car and try to remote start.  Watch the car security light, if stays on or flashes tou bypass is not working.

the secuirity is bypassed successfully and the car starts but for some reason shuts down and restarts again. I think the starter does not know the car is started and think its a failed attempt so retries.

Try temporarily reprogramming your unit for voltage sense mode.
If it works in voltage sense, then you have the wrong tach wire, or the tach rate wasn't programmed right.
The unit may work perfectly forever in voltage sense, or it's possible that when it gets really cold out, it won't work very well...........you could always just leave it on voltage sense for a while, and see how it goes.
On the other hand, if you have the same problem even when using voltage sense, it must be something else.
