Hey guys,

Installed a Compustar remote starter into an 05 Durango the other day. Customer didn't drive it until today (left it in the shop), and now when he gives it gas it doesn't move. Engine light came on as well.

Anyone ever had this problem or know what could have caused it?

what bypass did you use?  I don't know if it matters but I'll ask before anyone else does.

What compustar unit did you install?  This vehicle has 2 ign., and 2 accs,. (second accs is no on all) Do you got em all?

I used the iDataLink bypass module, it hasn't been programmed yet (customer didn't have 2 keys) but everything else is wired up. Used the Compustart PRO2WFMAS. Both ignitions and acc were hooked up.

He just got the code read, turns out the tranny has gone into anti-theft mode and the code needs to be reset by a specific programmer? Anyone heard about this and/or what could have caused this?

check the fuses in the truck. I know on a lot of newer Chrysler vehicles, there is a fuse that if it blows, the vehicle will go into "limp mode" here it will only run in 1st or 2nd gear.

Could be that the bypass module has created this dilema. Wrong key, wrong programming, etc. the truck shuts itself down.... ? I don't know   anyone else chime in on this?

So turns out when I disconnected the main power wire from the ignition harness, truck went back to normal. As soon as I started driving it while the wire was hooked up again, it threw the code.

Looks like i'll have to run it from the battery. Anyone had this problem?

So it's taken a while for the customer to get the 2nd key, but he finally got it and i'll be completing this tomorrow.
Now for now, the unit has been disconnected. As soon as the power wire is connected, the car throws and engine light and the tranny doesn't shift gears.
Could this be related to the bypass module and how can I check? I'm using an iDatalink chrysler module.
Thanks.

It gives the impression you have ignition failure or feedbacks, how did you wired up 2 ign and 2 acc?

missing power upon remote start or conflictual relay connections bad time tranny codes....
Disconnect the idatalink module until you solved the issue, anyway it's useless to have it there to run diagnostic.
3rd ACC is missing, any similar codes needs to be resolved before the vehicle goes back on the road. Bad transmission damages can occur in a very short delay!
