is there a way i can bypass the onstar system without using the plug from metra....like the old 2002 escalade we can put a line converter to the 3 wires and plug the signal up to the aux of a pioneer unit

or does anyone know where the location of the onstar mod. is in the truck?

As far as bypassing, I probably couldn't help ya. The onstar brain should be under the center console if you have it or behind the glove box.

I have one of these OS-1 OnStar® interfaces installed in my Yukon and it ticks continuously and then pops when the engine is turned off. I have not figured out how to stop it yet but other than that it works well. it mutes when it is supposed to but sometimes when there is silence on the Onstar line the music comes back on but it goes away once they start talking again.
