I have a 2001 Chrysler Concorde and I recently installed a Viper 5900 alarm/keyless/remote start system.  One issue I have been having and am unable to solve concerns my parking lights.  Directechs and other resources says that I am supposed to apply a 110 Ohm resistor to ground to trigger my parking lights to ensure that they come on.  On the alarm system there is a selectable flash output that has either negative or positive output.  Since my parking lights are negative trigger,  I set the jumper on the brain to a negative output.  I wired that wire with the resistor to my parking light switch.  Now, all of my lights continually flash.  My interior lights, parking lights and headlights all flash when I use the 110 ohm resistor.  Any ideas to what I might be doing wrong?  I am sure I am using the right wire.

Yeah ..

you need to use a relay bud, ... use the trigger as your (-) neg parking light output from the Viper... here's the schematic:

85: (-) viper parking light output wire

86: (+) fused 12 volts

87: ground via a 110ohm resistor

30: Chrysler parking light wire

that should do it for ya.

The search function is your friend.

Three options.
1. Directechs lies. You can use the car's BLACK / YELLOW postive parking light wire, found at the fusebox, and nothing will explode.
2. Use a relay as peterubers instructs. This will duplicate exactly how the car operates from the factory.
3. Stick with what you have, and play around with the resistor value. The problem is that most likely your remote starter's negative-trigger parking light gives a low-current (weak) signal.....only intended to drive a relay.
But in my experience, if you substitute another resistor (with fewer Ohms), and you try a couple of different ones, you'll probably get it right with a little trial and error.

Here's the deal....out of frustration, I just hooked my flash output wire to my yellow(-) wire at the parking light switch.  it works.  However, do I run the risk of burning anything out?  If I can safely get away without using the relay, I will.  However, I'm an installer.  I do it right, or not at all.

The wire I'm test'n isn't doin' what it's supposed to be doin'... I am so glad I printed that tech sheet, with the wrong info.
Do it right the first time... or I might have to fix it for ya
