I have work with fiberglass some in the past and now I am planning on fiberglassing my doorpanels for a 3-way component set. I drive a 2000 chevy s-10. I have saw pictures of where others have done this but the end result had a oem stylrd interior and blended with the rest of the vehicle. Has anyone had any experience with this and/or know how to do it and what all is used?

thanks

just wait till the bass drops

SEM has a product called "texture coat". prep the panel in the usual way, then instead of primer, hit it is the texture coating. takes a little practice, as spray pattern is finniky (speed, uneveness, distance from surface) makes it uneven.
used to be loud, used to be fast...now I am married LOL

to mimic the factory texture (which i think is a vinyl look) you need to crumble up a plastic bag from the grocery store, make sure you crumble it really good so it has a lot of texture in it.  then spray the sem texture coat on pretty thick and blot the project with the bag until you get a texture that you're happy with and let it dry.  this will simulate vinyl or leather texture on complex projects that you cannot use vinyl on.

practice on a few pieces before you do that on your final project.

Hey guys a piece of vinyl with texture pressed on the half dried paint will give the same effect!
