I cant get my 16-MC1000D to come on.  The protection light comes on for a split second then goes off. and then it wont do anything. If i take out the Main fuse, and the amp is only hooked up to my farad cap. the protection light stays on until the cap is completely exhausted. I hook a fusion amp up and it runs fine. what could i be doing wrong.

What is the model # of the subs you're using, and how are they wired? What size power/ground cables are you using? How is it grounded? Is the gain knob cranked up?

i dont know the model numbers of my subs,  but theyre rated at like 300 watts nominal, which shouldnt be too weak when i run the amp at 4 ohms, which should put out like 600 watts, and the subs are 4 ohms, i tried wiring them series and parralel, and just straight up without bridging. its grounded to the body of my car in the trunk. I have the gain knob all the way down. I even tried it without the subs being hooked up. i dont know the guages of my wires, i think the lead is like 4 guage and the ground is like 8

ground should be the same size or bigger than the power cable. Take it back to wear you bought it and have it tested.
