OK, We are installing a Clifford 4706x remote start/keyless into my 2007 Honda Civic with manual transmission.
We are assuming the "brain" reads parking brake and clutch via data. We used the Bitwriter to turn on MTS and it is not working.
Here is the link to the owners manual...
click to view, Page 32 talks about manual transmission
When installed into a manual transmission vehicle, the system requires that the MTS mode is properly set when parking. If MTS mode is not properly set or is defeated after being properly set the system will not start the engine and the REMOTE START ERROR text and tones play as an alert.
1. With the engine running, press the foot brake then set the parking
brake and leave the engine running. For Pit Stop or Turbo Timer
mode (to leave the engine running after Locking) open the driver
door.
2. Release the foot brake. As long as the engine is running there is
no time limit to perform this step.
3. Within 20 seconds of foot brake release, press any command
button on the remote, after 20 seconds return to Step 2 (For Turbo
Timer Mode, press the optional dash mounted activation button
or send the Timer Mode command from the Advanced Start menu
screen).
4. The parking lights flash 5 times to confirm MTS mode enable
and the remote start activates the ignition outputs. The
REMOTE START ON text and beeps play to confirm.
5. Turn Off and remove the key from the ignition switch, the engine
remains running.
6. Exit the vehicle, close all the doors and Lock the system.
For now, we turned MTS off via the Bitwriter and set it up like an automatic, this is not ideal and very unsafe. I understand this, but I am hoping I can find the solution ASAP as to how to set it up.
I googled it and found nothing, so I am coming here in hopes someone can tell me how to wire it up. So hard to find any install instructions from Directed clifford 4706x manual transmission -- posted image.
Does it need actual wires run aka hardwire for it to work?
1) Does it need a wire run from e-brake?
2) Also assume door trigger, since instruction says that if any door is opened, it is cancelled. Figured it picks this via data, but we did tap for lock/unlock.
3) Where is the clutch wire run to? It seems like it does nothing when connected to the clutch pedal harness?
Is anything else required like a module?
Could someone please help with this. I would greatly appreciate it.

What are you using for the bypass module?

How is the bypass module connected to the Viper ( W2W or D2D ) ?

The Viper does not read the Clutch by data.  You must manually bypass the clutch interlock switch.  This can be done by connecting the Vipers (-) 200mA Starter Output wire to the Orange wire found at the Yellow plug at the top clutch pedal.

For MTS Mode to work, the Viper needs to be run in Tach Mode, so a Tach input is necessary as is the Tach Learn procedure.  You also need to supply Door, Trunk and Hood Status signals to the Viper along with the Neutral Safety Input ( E-Brake ).

Soldering is fun!

Hi
Thanks so much for trying to help!
It is a iDatalink ADS-ALCA. It is connected to the Clifford module via D2D. Would you recommend a different module or something like that?
When you say hood - do I have to do the hood pin? It is bypassed for now.
Thanks again!

Oops, forgot to ask - so e-brake is read via Data then? Or do I need to provide this input? Thanks!

Using an iDatalink ADS AL-CA bypass module is an excellent choice.  The module should be flashed with the DBI-AL(DL)-HA2

firmware.  You will use Install Guide #17123 and the Type 3 install diagram.

If you look at the chart on Page 2 of the guide, it lists the functions performed by the bypass module.

Going in D2D mode, you will set the modules Installation Mode to DATA and lock it in, following the steps listed on the top of

Page 10 and then continue with module programming shown on the lower section of that same page.

All of the connections are made for you between the Clifford and the bypass module via the D2D harness.  Only the solid

Black lines have to be made, as shown.

The module does not supply the E-Brake signal to the Clifford via the D2D harness, it is not a listed function on the Chart

on Page 2.  The module will supply the Brake, Tach, Trunk and Door signals.  The Hood signal is listed but will only be
supplied if the Civic has a factory hood pin installed.  If it is not there, the bypass module can't supply the Hood Status
signal and you will have to install the Clifford hood pin from the kit.

The E-Brake wire will be either Orange ( 4 dr ) or Light Green or Light Blue ( 2 dr ) at the Parking Brake switch.  It can also

be found as Light Green on the drivers side under-dash junction box, above the gas pedal

Soldering is fun!

as kreg mentioned, the Ebrake wires can also be found at the driver kick panel. white 23 pin plug, pin 13 or 18 (sedan/coupe)

First off thanks so so much, this has been so educational for me, its was super helpful.
So, if I understand correctly:
1) I need to get e-brake hardwired to 4706x. How to get to it is posted above.
2) I possibly need hood signal to the 4706x. Civic forums say its on the blue connector on interior fuse box from engine harness nexxt to a brown wire. Thats not super helpful. If its not there, run the clifford hood pin switch.
Kreg357 - Based on what you know now of us using the ADS-LCA with Type 3 wiring diagram, do your earlier comments apply:
1) The Viper does not read the Clutch by data. You must manually bypass the clutch interlock switch. This can be done by connecting the Vipers (-) 200mA Starter Output wire to the Orange wire found at the Yellow plug at the top clutch pedal.
I think I have to do this, I am guessing.
2) For MTS Mode to work, the Viper needs to be run in Tach Mode, so a Tach input is necessary as is the Tach Learn procedure.
This is provided by ADS-LCA, so I am good, right?
Thanks!

1.  Yes, hardwire the E-Brake signal.  It must be seen by the Viper to set reservation mode.

2.  Typically, only cars with factory alarm systems ( that monitor the hood ) have factory hood pins.  If your car does not have the

Factory Hood pin, install the one from the Viper kit ( or use a mercury tilt switch ).

1. Clutch bypass.  The ADS AL-CA w/ DBA AL( DL)-HA2 does not do anything with this.  You must install a clutch bypass that does not interfere

with the normal operation of the clutch interlock safety.  The wiring mentioned above provides a clutch bypass only during a remote
start and does not cause any problems with normal operation.

2  Yes, the ADS AL-CA does supply a Tach signal to the Viper via the D2D harness.  You will still have to do a Viper Tach Learn

after you successfully get the ADS AL-CA programmed to the Civic. Might also have to program the Viper for Engine Checking = Tach.

While I mentioned it, I did not stress it  ( trying to be diplomatic but not wanting to assume or overlook anything ).  The ADS AL-CA

bypass module must be flashed with a specific firmware for all of this to work.  It needs DBI AL(DL)-HA2 .firmware

i shall elaborate on what kreg has provided already.
1) the bypass does supply the ebrake status output, HOWEVER due to limitations of the viper dbi protocol it doesn't read this info.
2) the hood pin signal is in a gray harness in the driver kick panel, but getting to or finding this wire is honestly a PITA to get to. the harness has no slack whatsoever. You're better off running a wire out to the engine bay. As kreg noted a mercury tilt switch would be the best (doesn't corrode)
to bypass the clutch, using the (-) second start will work. Ive also seen this wire to be BLUE (-) as well as ORANGE (-) so test accordingly.

You two totally rule and are genuiuses in my book.
I will have to wait till the weekend to try this. I may just order a mercury tilt switch online and get it coming too. Thanks a lot, guys. I will report back and let you know how this went.
