well before i can install an alarm into my 96 ranger i need to figure out the problem with the courtesy lights and door buzzer
i do know that it is a special timered     and realy controled setup          my question is the door switches are they negative or positve?          i'd like to think that they are poitive 'cause    there are 2 switches going to each one          the problem is that the courtesy lights and dinger sometimes come on unexpectedly    like while driving down the road   or they will stay on when i get out of the truck           any advise?

Hey brock_fuzzy_69,

The door trigger is BLACK/ blue in the big harness in drivers kickpad and is positive. To avoid dome light delay use seperate left and right negative door triggers. They are yellow/black for drivers door, and gray/red for passenger door. Both wires are negative and found at Generic Electronic Module (GEM), located behind center of dash. Use both wires and diode isolate each.  door switches -- posted image.
