1990 Chevy Beretta

I have a 1990 Chevy Beretta and when i step on the brakes it takes up alot of power (i know this b/c i have the gauge on the inst. cluster) also when i come to a complete stop the power that it producing goes from about 13 volts to 11 volts. the battery and alternator are brand new. how can this be stopped.

i too have a 1990 beretta and it used to be when i turned on my turn signals the voltage we drop with each blink. there are two things you can do. Either step up your alternator to a higher amperage or what i did to solve the problem, which is buy an optima yellow top battery.

Do you have an internal or external voltage regulator? If the regulator is not built into the new alternator, I would replace the external voltage regulator and see if it helps.

you need a bigger batt more cca cold cranking amps

witch will stop the alt draw you have

heavy chevy
