The wiring diagram for a 98 Toyota Avalon on this site is listed for 4 spkrs.

Does anyone know the diagram for 6 spkr Avalons?

Thanks for any help-

Ask your local Toyota dealer... they will have the schematics on file .

They are most UNhelpful- they don't want to give me the time of day because I'm requesting free information.  Maybe I should have a talk with the service manager?

Do that, talk to the service manager and tel them that you bought the car there ( or whereever ) and they owe it to you for giving you some of this information !!

Thanks guys.  I finally did get the info I was looking for.  But I didn't know that the amp was located by the glove box.

How does (or can) an aftermarket head be installed with the stock amplifier?  Does that amplifier accept higher wattage signals from an aftermarket's unit outputs?  Is the stock head just sending line-level signals to the stock amp?

Hi Black Frog, if you're installing a high power head unit you'll want to use a line output converter to connect to your factory amplifier http://www.peripheral-aamp.com/periph_products/line_output_convert.htm#premium  or  you could just bypass the factory amp and run radio power.

The  current amp has 5 channels. front l-r, rear l-r, and a single back deck woofer.

How can I use a 4 channel aftermarket head with the stock 5 channel amp?

If I omitted the stock amp and used a 4 channel head unit, is there any way to still incorporate the single back deck woofer?

Thanks for all the help!
