I have  2003 Acurs RSX that I have installed an aftermarket stereo system in. Since that time I have the SRS warning light on. I have hooked up a OBD 2 scanner to check for error codes. None are reported. Dose Acura have a different way of reporting SRS errors? I am open to any other suggestions on how to go about diagnosing this problem. I am quite a distance from an Acura dealer so I thought I would try and take care of this myselfe first.

Thanks

I'll bet you unhooked an SRS cable while you removed the factory head unit. I have an Acura MDX...I know that I have to disconnect an SRS-related cable to gain access to the dashboard. I also know that if I don't reconnect the cable that, the SRS warning light will go on.
I would think REAL HARD about what connectors you might have disconnected while disassembling your dash before you pursue any other avenues of repair for this problem.

BTW...I'll also bet that, so long as your SRS light is on, that one or more of your vehicle's airbags will not inflate in the event of an accident...I'd fix the problem ASAP if I were you!

Did you remove any seats to run cables under the carpet...if so, maybe you forgot to reconnect an SRS cable that senses the weight of the person sitting in the seat.

Thanks for the suggestions,

I checked all the plugs that I could find associated with the air bag system and I hooked up a ODB 2 computer to see if there was any errors gennerated, there werent any reported. After more research on some Acura specific forums I found the answer. It turns out Acura has a reset sequence that must be completed to reser the airbag controller. Even if whatever problem that set the indicator light on has be fixed the light stays on until a reset takes place. Its a simple process of shorting two wires together a couple of times. If any one else need help on the exact location and sequence of how to do this please respond to this thread or email me.

Thanks again for all your help
