Hey gang... passlock 2 wires.. where the hell are they... pulled the radio to get to the ignition switch.... yup theres my black yellow and white wires...  cut yellow wire in half.... bared black wire.... measured resistance from "Key side yellow wire to black" Put car in reverse, turned key to "start" and released it. Got 1.8002k ohms. Wired up my relay. 85 ignition1, 86 ground, 87 to yellow wire with resistor in line(not key side) 30 to black wire. Car wont remote start and RUN. even with the yellow cut in half and no resistor in line... the car still starts with key... what the hell am i doing wrong.. is there another plug im not seeing??? other than the ignition wires... these are the only wires comming out of the ignition switch... help me please, kept the car overnight just so i could ifnish it in the morning

Thanks gang

You can't interface GM's Passlock II system using 1 relay. You would be far better off getting a proper interface to avoid problems in the future. The passlock system only activates during crank and run. Using methods which break the yellow signal wire will eventually fail and prevent the car from starting. There are good modules available for around $30.00 usually.

Problem solved! i cut the newly installed R/S off the car and refunded their money. Spent too much time dicking with it.

Used Designtech's universal bypass unit on it, no luck. Used a GMATA2 on it, no luck, Wired up a resistor with a relay, no luck.

What i did: Removed radio from dash, found my WHITE/ BLACK / YELLOW wires. Bared my black wire, cut the yellow wire in half. Turned the key ON and put it in reverse. Hooked up tester to Black wire, and to the key side yellow wire. Turned ignition to "start" and released it. Got a reading of 3.027. Matched that up as best i could with Designtech's, nothing. Used the GMATAII, dialed it in to a spot on match 3.027, no luck. Sat there with my bag of trusty resistors and got it to 3.025, nothing. Yes i was hooking up this resistance wire to the "steering colum" side of it... not the yellow comming from the key side... and grounded to the black wire... finally got fed up and quit... i hate to take it in the ass on a job like that, but time is money and i was loosing it fast

Thanks for the help though, mebbe next time it wont be so bad
