Hello All.

This looks like a great forum - I am sure glad I found it.

I have a problem with the DC power port on my 2000 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab.  Last summer I drew too much current through my inverter attached to the power port and the port died.  I checked all fuses and found none blown.  THen I took the truck to the dealer for service.  They couldn't find th eproblem in a few hours.  They refused to look further since I have an aftermarket stereo (weak excuse).  Anyway, I am left with the task of tracking down the problem my self.  Can anyone offer any suggestions on where to look?  Are there any fusable links or fuses outside the main fuse panel?  Is a wiring diagram available that would help me trace the wiring with a continuity tester?

Thank you very much,

plaskey

Since the power port is always on (regardless of ignition), can I just run a fused wire from the battery? Is there a cleaner way to do it?
I'd still like to see a wiring diagram that would help me trace the actual problem. Can anyone direct me to one?
Thank you,
plaskey
