I just had a Kenwood headunit installed in my Mustang with the factory Shaker 1000 speaker system. I have a loud thump when powering up or switching from various sound sources (i.e. music keg, radio). My Installer at 6th Ave electronics stated that since the factory system has no gain control that nothing can be done and to live with it. The Ford dealer said they did not install it correctly and that this should not happen. I'm not sure who to beleve. Please let me know if someone has any info to provide me.   Thanks in advanceLoud Thump -- posted image.

Tell your installer to put a 1500 ohm resistor inline on the amp turn on lead, and all will be good.
My ex once told me I have a perfect face for radio.
