Morning Everyone,
We'll i'm about as much of a noob as can be but i've been a lurker for a really long time. I have a list of custom projects that i have planned to complete over the summer and perhaps the fall and i was hoping to get some opinions and suggestions (some include fiberglass which i've never done before).
Car = 1991 Nissan Skyline GTR - pretty amazing condition and thus far has been built for sheer performance.
I will be entering the car in shows and i am in the works with a few companies for potential sponsorship as this will be a show/track car.
Desired Mods:
Custom Sub/Amp enclosure, currently i have 2 12" Kenwood Subs (a bit older but they work well), the current box is 14" tall and unfortunately the rear wiper assembly makes the max size allowable to 13" so my box can go all the way in and it effectively robs my entire trunk (a real hassle).
Custom Security System: Basically i'm tired of Viper/Compustar alarms i dont think they work and just provide noise pollution. So i've picked up a keypad and i plan to wire it to my ignition, i also want a fuel kill switch as well and perhaps a boomerang, opinions?
Motorized License Plate: most out there offer a simple standard flip up/down, i want mine pretty much idential to the transporter where at the flip of a switch it will rotate. I have a JDM license plate and a nismo one that i would like to mount as well for show use. i have a few sketches but i'd like some opinions/ideas on what or how this can be done.
Custom Dash Piece/Console: i would like to preserve the stock interior as much as possible, everything i want to add must be hidden. Keypad and engine start to be hidden where the ashtray was and i want that to be a motorized or a pop out (like some newer ones have) i believe is a spring. Also i was thinking about mounting my gps so that it pops out of the dash using a linear acutator.
Most of these aren't really expensive just very labour intensive so they are doable providing i can do most of it myself or perhaps with the help of my sponsors. I will post some pictures of the car and the interior to give you who havent seen one before what i have and where i'd like to have things.
thanks for reading!
Cheers,
Shiraz
