Infinity Sub Enclosure

Hi everyone,

I am new here, nice forum a lot of very helpful information. My question is, I have 2 Infinity Reference Series 1220W 12''  sub at 300W RMS, 1200W Peak.  What size should I make my sub enclosure according to those speakers.

I want to replace my rear seat of my car with a sub enclosure, the base will be construct with 3/4 mdf and with some mold fabric to make the shape, and about 6-7 layers of fiberglass mat.

I know the enclosure will be strong enough, the only thing I am not sure about is the size of the box, the box will have a couple of curves where the mdf rings will be. I don't wanna make the box to big because the bass will be really weak. I was thinking to make the mdf base about 4 feet long(L), 2 feet wide (W) and about 1 feet deep (H) where the mdf rings for the sub would be.

Could someone tell me if all those dimension for my sub enclosure would be alright for those Infinity Subs?

And another questions. What do you all think of those Infinity subwoofers, I heard they were pretty good, but just want all of your opinions.

The 12 " subs should have come with enclosure size specifications . Use the factory specs for the type of enclosure that you are wanting to use ( ie. sealed, ported, bandpass, etc... ). The Infinity subs have had a good track record and have herd some good things and some bad things about it but in general they are a well built subwoofer. To find voulme of the enclosure with curves and odd lines, get a box that is 1 cu.ft and fill with packing popcorn. Use this to fill the enclosure and it will give you a pretty good idea for the volume that you have.Jeff

I bought the Infinity Subwoofer on ebay brand new but it didn't came with the original boxe and manual,  I don't have any specification for it.

I found the specifications for the Infinity Reference 1220W subwoofer. Here is the link http://manuals.harman.com/INF/CAR/Boxes%20and%20Parameters/REF1220w.pdf

I am not very familliar with all of those specifications. Can someone tell me the best size for my enclosure... and I was going for a sealed box.

Could someone help me.
