I would like to wire the power supplies for my cell phone and my MP3 player directly to my vehicle's power instead of using the cigarette lighter adapters.  Can someone tell me the easiest way to do this, possibly some diagrams?

Info;

2004 Dodge Ram 1500 Quad Cab

Cell phone is a Motorola V60P

MP3 is a Creative Nomad Zen Xtra

Thanks

D Steinbrenner

dude, regarding your phone, spend the money on a handsfree kit, get it installed professionally and at the same time they can connect the radio mute (when phone rings or you ring out the stereo immediatly mutes, some head unit (mostly stock units)  have this function, if not a relay can be wired in to switch off the accesories lead in to the unit (uses pin 87a) all kits have this option. as for mp3 player? just fing constant, accessroies or ignition which ever you choose hook into it and then screw the (-) to earth and your away!

Make sure you check the voltage draw on your phone/MP3 player. Some units only pull 6v, which requires you to wire in a 12v socket and use the unit's exsisting 12v plug (fuse and all) IOT make it work. As for the phone, get it done professionally to take advantage of cell mute (Dodge comes factory with this option) as overworked suggests.
