how to ground hid’s?

do you guys usually ground the hids at the battery? or do you make a new ground since you are running the power right to the battery is it okay to do the same for the ground (running it to the battery)? and what would the implications be of doing so?

Grounding at the battery is always the best, but not always the most convienient. (how ever you spell it)

I assume your talking about grounding the ballast?
