I have a 1998 olds intrigue...i bought a simple blue neon light the other day and disconnected the lighter adapter.  I then connected it into what i think is a fuse box.  It comes out from under where the steering wheel is.  It has about 16 places for wire, and about 6 of those filled.  They only come in one side.  I took the pos and neg wires and connected them into the other side of two of the holes.  The light worked fine.  I left it in there and next time i turned my car even to the acc position, my dash light and cd player didnt turn on.  The obvious problem with this is that i can't drive at night or see how much gas i have left.  I'm guessing that i blew a fuse...but i'm not sure.  The sooner i can fix the problem the better.  Thanks a bunch!

What's the best power source for under dash and under seat neons??  I don't want to keep the lighter adapter power cause that looks clunky.  Is there a way to get power and not have to go all the way to the car battery?  I have a 98 olds intrigue if that helps

Hey Mark go straight to the fuse box or to the ignition wires for the power connections. You will need to strip & solder the connections.

Use one of the wires above for the neon & they are found behind the stereo where you place your key in the ignition.

if you are using those very small neons watch out because some of them have the transformer in the cig plug, i just purchase a female receptical and plug it in and wire that up, you could just solder wires on the terminals of the plug tho. This is only on those little ones also.

when you hook up a neon light to a power source such as the ignition wire or another constant 12V source...you connect the positive to the wire and where does the negative end go??

The other end goes to ground. Or a toggle switch to turn it off and on but same idea..Just then the other side of the toggle switch would go to ground instead..Also make sure you throw a fuse inline where your tapping in at the ignition wires..

ok...last time hopefully.  I'm tryin to connect a 10" neon interior light without the light adapter

Positive from neon goes to switch (port 2).  Port 1 on switch goes to constant 12V power source.  Port 3 on switch goes to ground.  Where does the negative wire from the neon go?

Thanks a lot
