Just bought a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee, all of the electrical works fine. Except the CD player. Every time I put a CD in it says ERR and spits it back out. Also the controls on the back of the steering wheel do not work. Also where is a good place to get info. for taking the radio out (taking the dash apart) Thanks for any help!!

That vehicle is cake.  There might be one or two screws on the radio trim, but I'm pretty sure it just pops off (held in with spring clips).  Then there's just 4 phillips screws to remove the radio. The lens of the player is probably either dirty or scratched if it does that no matter what CD you put in there.  As for the steering wheel controls, I wouldn't be surprised if whoever had the vehicle before you messed around with something under the dash or behind the wheel.  When you pull the radio out make sure all the wires are connected properly, and check under the dash to see if there are any loose wires.

If the steering wheel controls never worked, then check to see the white connector in the back of the deck has a 2 pin molex connector attached to it. If it's not there find it and re-attach the connector to the back of the deck. If you just bought the Jeep, you should still have some form of warranty for it from the dealership you bought it from( unless it was a private sale )... check to see if they will wararnty the stereo for you.
