I have a 94 Cadillac STS with a Pioneer 7000cd and a AVM9000 brain. Since the factory bose speakers were so good i decided to leave them in, and put a couple rockford power dvc 12's in the trunk....it sounds great, except...

after i installed everything there was a hiss at low volumes that comes out of the factory speakers.

someone told me it was because they were 1 ohm speakers with their own aplifiers....but i was wondreing if there was any way to get rid of the hissing without throwing out awesome speakers....please help.

How did you conect the pioneer head unit up to the factory bose system? The correct adapter to use would be something like this, which I found at this site.

The fact that they're 1-ohm speakers has nothing to do with it--it's just the fact that each speaker has its own amplifier and all of them need to be properly integrated with the aftermarket radio for it all to sound good.

The fact that the speakers are 1-ohm only really matters when you're thinking about upgrading to an aftermarket 4-channel amp (external or built in to the amp) and continuing to use the factory speakers.
