So i am looking at doing a new stereo setup in my truck. I've only done single sub/mono block setups before, always got good bass and response and always been happy. Well this time around i've decided i wanna go bigger, as its a full out custom truck i am building. I am going with a two kicker 12 inch 2ohm, DVC subs (07cvt122 models).

Now for my amp, i am considering the kicker monoblock 08zx400 model. These subs are 400 rms, 800 peak, 2ohm DVC subs. The amplifier is 400 rms, 800 peak at 2 ohms. Now my question is, if i run both subs with the monoblock, what will be my wattage to the subs? I am thinking 400/2 = 200rms. Now i dunno if this is how monoblocks work when hooked up to two DVC subs.

If it is only 200rms. Is it possible to run dual monoblock amps, one for each sub? And if it is, will i run into any synchronizing problems for the music. The headunit i have selected JVC KD-AVX44 EL KAMELEON has three preamp outputs, so i am thinking no. The output from the headunit will be synchornized already, the amps will recieve the same signal, and i will have no problems. Naturally if i go the dual monoblock route, i will have all the gain/bass boost, etc etc set the same.

Anyhelp is appreciated, I think i've got all the info bases on my equipment covered, but ask away and i will try my best to answer. If you can suggest a better monoblock/2 channel amp, thats appreciated.

Also, if you have any ideas for a similarly powered system (800-1000watt rms, dual 12 inch) setup, that info is appreciated as well. Money is not a problem, this is my winter project.

Yes, connecting multiple speakers to any amplifier will split that available power depending on the speaker's impedance rating.  If you connect your 2-DVC woofers to an amplifier, they will split the available power equally.  There is nothing wrong with using your Kicker amp with two woofers.  Yes, it is possible to use a separate amp for each woofer, just use a Y-cable and send the same subwoofer preamp level signal from your HU to each amp.  Be sure to wire the woofers in phase and set the phase on each amp to the same setting, and set your gain properly.
