Its not alternator whine. I get that when i turn on the rear defroster :)
Its a simple hiss that inreases with the gains. I have to set the gains on the amps at something like 25% to get rid of the hiss completely. Anything higher than around 25% on the gains and it is like listening to an old 8 track.
This is heard when the volume is very low or at zero. Any other amount of volume you can drown it out LOL.
We have 2 nissan sentra's. We have his and her systems in them. Kenwood 3ways in front doors and rear deck, with tweeters in the front pillars. All running off a cadence txa 3004, in both cars.
I am thinking of pulling one out and throwing a jensen in there to see if it goes away. I have a couple 75x4 rms jensens in the closet.
I tried google but found no other disscusions of similar problems.

Check and make sure you have a good ground.  What kind of a deck are you using in these cars and are your RCA's running next to your power wire?

...half of the truth can be worse than a lie. <----Roger Russell said that..

Grounds are great and short. The HU are kenwood. I have to also mention, we are also running cadence mono amps to cadence 12" wild beasts in ported boxes. If i unfilter the mono amp and run it at full range, there is no hiss thru the subs at all. And this hiss is while the car is NOT running.

RCA's are running alone on one side of the car. Power, remote and speaker cables on other side

Just for sheets and giggles, i went out and disconnected the cadence 4x amp in her car and connected one of the jensens and the hiss is gone :(

To bad the jensen is real garbage and cant produce near the output as the cadence :(

i am an idiot

With the gains set to the point that you can not hear the hiss.   Can you still achieve your desired listening level?

The mono amp is a SQA-1 marine mono amp. Different type of amp than the txa3004.
The txa3004 in my car doesnt have as loud a hiss as the one in her car with the same settings. I set these up the same so i didnt have anything thrown in my face. I can live with the hiss, but she bitches about hers all the time, thus, the HELP
The only thing different in her car compared to mine is the rca cable length. The HU's, cable kits, all around speakers (except the front pillar tweeters) are all the same, even the boxes are the same, and all brand new purchases. I probably will be getting a matching set of tweeters for hers because she notices the difference when she is in my car.

With the gains set to about 25%, so there is no hiss, and the bass and trebble eq settings maxed out on the amp, there isnt much volume at all. I can max the volume on the HU to its full 35 and then i think i might as well just reinstall the factory system and i wasted all that cash. Not to mention, i am probably sending a clipped signal to the amps, which i understand isnt a good thing.
With the bass and trebble eq off, forget it
