ok so i got all my stuff in and installed everything, have an alpine M500 amp with a single 10 inch infinity perfect dual 4 sub, the problem is that it sounds like junk the sub is just not pushing at all like it should, i hooked the sub up in my friends car to his amp and it sounded great so i believe the problem lies with the line output converter, i tapped it into the front left and front right speaker wires at the factory head unit, i would have went directly to the back speakers and tapped in but i have a convertible and it is i pain to get to the speakers, what should i do???

anybody have any ideas? I still dont know whats up with it, I have it wired parallel so it should be receiving 500 watts rms the sub is rated at 400 rms, but it is barely responding, keep in mind i have the mach 460 system where there are 2 amps under my convertible top that power all 4 5x7 door speakers which are actually kind of like factory subs

i would think it was the coverter. Go to your local shop i know pac makes one that is ajustable and for factory amplified cars. Not sure what the number is but your local shop should know or someone here will be by im sure that will know.

since you have a mach system, the front speakers might be high-passed so your bass will sound like garbage because it isnt actually playing all bass frequencies, just the higher frequencies. try to tap the rear speakers and if that doesn't work you will be buying a new radio or you could measure the voltage for the inputs at the factory amp and if it is low voltage (like an RCA output) you can try soldering RCAs directly to the input of the factory amp to steal the signal

You need to tap the line out converter in the rear deck.  There should be two wires in tape and visible if you look up from the trunk.  I believe one of them is white, but can't remember the other one.  They should be in a small two wire harness if i remember right.  (been a while since i've done one)  Tap your wires there and that should get you the low frequency output that you need.  Your LOC shouldn't be bad, it's where your tapping into that's giving you the problem.  White should be your negative output and the other should be positive.  Give that a shot and you should be good.
