Alpine 7288 - Audio Interrupt Wire?

Right now I am installing a Alpine 7288 CD Changer...which is nicley a chassis grounded deck. (I have to Chassis Ground all the speakers). Well, when I chassis ground ALL the speakers they stop playing. In fact, sometimes I can get two speakers to work and then no speakers to work and when NO speakers work, I have to disconnect all of the Chassis Grounds in order to get the speakers to play again. UGH.

       The only thing that I didn't connect was an Audio Interrupt Wire...What the hell is that!?? It says 'Audio Interrupt In' on the label and I'm not sure where that goes. Is it another return ground path that I hook to ground? HELP.

What you need to use is the 70-1768 wiring harness from metra, or possibly the 70-5510 depending on what your vehicle's plugs look like.  Most likely it's gonna be the 70-1768 as it is the one specifically desgined to integrate an aftermarket deck with the factory common ground amplified system.  But do double check the pictures first to make sure you have the right harness.

The audio interrupt wire is usually used to connect to a component like a mobile phone system.  When the phone rings, it sends a signal to the head unit, and the head unit automatically mutes the stereo so that you can answer the call without having to mute the stereo yourself.  Just like the dimmer and illumination wires, this interrupt wire is just an optional wire and it is not necessary to connect them for the deck to function properly.
