I am in the process of finishing a 2000+ watt system in a 99 C5 Vette using 0 gauge positive and grounds (and yes, the wire is almost as thick as a garden hose). I ended up drilling holes inthe firewall in the passenger footwell area. You have to remove the underdash panel, and look for where the factory loom runs through the firewall and under the hood. You will also have to remove the factory battery, and the wires will be visible from there, just above the area where the Vette's underhood BCM is located.
