I'm looking into buying 2 10" subs and an amp. I went to a local dealer and he suggested a JL 500.1 and two JL 10w0. I'm trying to keep it cheap, so 10w3 are out of the questions along with $200 subs. But my question is what 500.1 should I go with? The j2 are cheaper but the v2 has more tuning. What amp would be better and is it worth the extra to go with the slash v2? Would like to stay with JL audio because he is having a 50% off sale. Thanks.

The good thing about the slash series is that they will put the same power out at any impedance between 1.5 to 4 ohms. Most other amps power varies depending on how you wire the speakers. But maybe the 500/1 is too much for those subs. I believe a 250/1 would do just fine with all the power those subs could handle. Those amps are underrated so your 500/1 puts out about 603w and the 250/1 will put out about 300w which is perfect if you go by JL's power chart for those speakers.
