I am attempting to add a 10 cd changer to my '97 Town car, the kind that transmits to your FM radio with a modulator, upon removing the radio, I do not see the old familiar "Motorola" connector for the Antenna!!??? Any help appreciated, I beleive it is likely Identical to the same year Crown Victoria.

I am unsure of what you mean by the term "motorola" connector, however, being a GM vechicle, you are going to need 2 antenna adapters. One that converts from the GM style to the standard antenna (probably what you consider the Motorola) which will run into the FM Modulator. The other peice you will need, changes from the regular antenna connection to the GM style, which will need to run from the FM Modulator back into the factory radio.

I don't think you need any antenna adapters. The problem I think is that the tuner and amplifier for these vehicles is in the trunk. Assuming that's the case, you're gonna need to either mount the modulator back there (not likely cuz the controller cable probably won't reach). Or you can get long antenna extension cables to run from the tuner up to the dash where the modulator is.

With this car, you should only buy a Pioneer or Sony changer.

Those two brands have the FM modulator built into the changer body itself, and the antenna cables, power cables, and controll cable are all run separately.

This way, you can usually get power somewhere in the trunk (probably at the tuner pack), and you don't need to run any long antenna extensions...you'll just need the two Ford antenna adapters. You then only have to run the controller cable up to the front.

By the way, the Metra part numbers for the antenna adapters you need are 40-FD10, and 40-FD20. If you buy the 40-FD30, you get both adapters in one package.
