pioneer deh 45dh car stereo

I have a Pioneer DEH-45DH in dash CD / Stereo unit. I would like to install this in my 1989 Cadillac. The car has a Power Antenna. I have searched all over for a user manual. All I have found is the service manual which has no installation information. Does anyone know if I can install this radio using the wiring harness adapters and use the power antenna?

on that pioneer model there is a blue w/white stripe wire in the harness. it is used to turn on amps and power antennas.

if you are going to hook up more than 2 devices, say you have a main amp, a sub amp and the antenna, use that wire to operate a relay (a diagram is on this site) that will turn those devices on. you only get one chance to mess up blow that blue w/white stripe wire circuit ... so make sure you do it right.

but it pretty much is the same. use the blue/white wire.

Thanks! I am not using any amp. The only wire with any blue off the radio is a meduim solid blue with an in-line fuse. There is no manual to be found for this model. Going from top left across the top row : black /green stripe,  BLACK/ white stripe,  black to a clip with another black in lower row,  red w/ acc tag,  yellow w/ ILL tag,  gray/black stripe,  GREEN/ blac stripe.

Second row from the left:  GREEN/ red stripe, gray/white stripe, black to the clip with the black in the top row, orange w/ battery tag and inline atc fuse, med blue w/ in line .5 old fashioned glass fuse, solid gray, solid green.

I bought a adapter to plug into the caddy. Here is a pic if it helps.

On the harness to the car it says on the wire: dimmer. Do I need to hook this up?

On the harness to the car it says on a wire: 12 volt ignition switched and on the radio harness it says: acc. Are these the same?

On the harness to the car it has one black wire and on the radio harness it has two black wires that end together. Do i join all three or do I find a metal spot on the car to put all of these grounds?

dimmer sometimes on those old pioneers made the buttons light up when you hade the headlights on ... i dont know if that would be yours or not.

i believe you are right on the switched and acc being the same. it should be the red wire on the radio and end up connected to the yellow in the actual caddy harness...is that right?

i odnt understand thet third question. if there is a wire that has a "c" connector for grounding i would ground it.

if you have a meter to test ohms. see if the ohms between the other black wires and the regular ground is less than one(dont be touching the wires yourself for this test). if it is, i think i would ground them. if not, i would tape them seperatly so they cannot short to anything.

better expl:

The caddy harness adapter has one black wire. On the radio harness there are two black wires. One in the top row and one in the bottom row, both being attached from the factory to a end with a hole in it for a bolt.

probably ground them to some good clean metal is best.
