ok here's the deal. Ive got 2004 freight-liner semi. It has aftermarket cd player. The question now is my am/fm radio stations don't come in at all. Its look like RF cb antenna that few of radio stations. So i am not sure what needs to be done. I haven't had an issue like this. Should I get an ordinary car antenna an start from there.

did it pick up before? Or is this a new vehicle that came with this problem, i ask this because we use something called a band expander here to pick up local stations when the radio comes tuned on the japanese frequencies, i don't know if it would be the same in your case though.

Not sure I just bought the truck, Ive driven other semi's with aftermarket stereo's never had a problem. I am just wondering if there if a standard car antenna needs to be installed in order to get the am/fm stations to work. I am pretty fimilar with installs of aftermarket stereo's. This one has me stumped.

You have a CB antenna hooked up to the radio? Like a 3-way antenna? You have to use a frequency splitter to protect the AM/FM receiver from the CB transmission... but yes in general you will get much better results using a dedicated car antenna for the AM/FM and a dedicated CB antenna for the CB.

I don't have CB hooked up, So I guess Then dedicated regular metal anttenna. will work then. Thats what I will have to change too.
