Hi All,
I recently installed a KTP-445 in my own vehicle, replacing an alpine MRP-F300 4channel amp, and I am wondering what other people that have experience with this part think of it.
In my setup, it is powering two 6.5" woofers from a Boston Pro 6.53 (http://www......com/item_10210_Boston-Acoustics-ProSeries-6.53-Pro-6.5%3Csup%3E3%3C-sup%3E.html) and two Vifa OX20SC00-04 3/4" Fabric Dome Tweeters (http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=264-1002&FTR=264-1002) using the active crossover (3-way mode) on my Alpine CDA-9886 (http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/cda-9886).
To me, the system sounds phenomenal, with plenty of low end from the 6.5s. It seems like the 45wx4 is plenty for a front soundstage and I don't see any drawbacks from using this tiny, cheap amp vs my previous 4 channel, but there has to be a few.
In the end, I don't see a reason to ever buy a conventional four channel amp ever again. Especially since there's no need to buy RCAs and power wires and run them, saving time and even more money.
I've also read online that you can cut off the harness and wire it up to any brand deck.
Anyways, if anyone has any opinions or experience with this, tell me about it. There has to be some major drawbacks with this price and convenience that I'm overlooking.

I cant give you a real draw back. If the power is enough for your set up than its a great piece, I have installed dozens so far and never had a single or failure or single complaint. They are quick to put in and work great, awesome budget piece

+1 on this being a great alternative to a small 4 channel amp! Yes it does work universally, but check with your alpine rep as it may void your warranty! (cutting the plugs off)

The only drawback is adjustability. If the radio doesnt have HPF tuning you may not get the best results. Safe to say though, if you put a good signal in, a more powerful good signal comes out. alpine ktp 445 opinions/experience -- posted image.

To master and control electricity is perfection. *evil laugh*

I have yet to use this with the PXA-H100 because I havn't had a HU that required this for 3-way, but I am a little confused about that part. Do you NEED the KTX-H100 mic and software with it or is that only for the system to auto-tune? In other words, can you manually tune the PXA-H100 via the USB, or do you need to buy the software and mic no matter what?
