Hi all, have a question about a box that i seen along time ago. The sub's were in 2 seperate sealed boxes faceing each other with about a foot between each other, but the foot in-between was also sealed connecting the 2 boxes together except for a port that was ported into the interier of the car from the trunk.
Anybody ever heard of anything like that?
just wondering and if you have is it easy or worth it?
thanks everyone!
Chuck

it sounds to me like a bandpass setup in reverse, but i see no reason why it would sound any different than a regular bandass setup. as lond as there is a sealed chamber and a tuned port chamber it would be a bandpass setup, right?

Sounds like a bandpass enclosure you can read more about them here http://www.jlaudio.com/tutorials/magic/bandpass.html   it’s the one of the most difficult enclosures to build would not recomend it for your first project.. And in my opinion I don’t like the way they tend to sound.

I agree with bberman on the sound...the whole spectrum tends to be rather muffled except for one note which it will pound out quite hard...anything below sounds like ass and anything above is really quiet...
