My first time tinkering with a 300ZX, and after replacing the head unit it still occasionally puts out a sound like the sound they do on the emergency broadcast system...("This is a test, in the event of a real emergency, I would set the whole car on fire and start over").  Now that I have put a new CD player head unit in, how can I bypass the factory amps?  Should I just gut the Bose speakers and do my own amp/speakers?  and most importantly...

Who is the fumbling braintrust of this unweildy piece of overproduced garbage in the first place?!

Dr. Amar Bose is his name I think300zx Bose Replacement... Help! -- posted image.

I would say if you get the correct bose integration adapter, and you know the bose amps are in good working order, you should just try to go that route.  What year Z is it?

Now if some of the speakers are blown or the amps are bad you're better off rewiring with aftermarket speakers powered from the aftermarket head unit.  You can't really replace a single bose speaker with an aftermarket one, without replacing the whole system, cuz the bose speakers are 1 ohm and most aftermarkets are 4 ohm.
