Does anyone have the audio (radio) wiring for a 2002 Mazda Protege? I'm putting the head unit into another car and I have the Scosche adapter(MA03R)...but I can't get the illumination to dim and the buttons don't light up. Calling Scosche they said they don't put a pin for that since they are concerned it could cause a problem if the consumer wired it wrong.

Here's what I have (numbers being larger pins):

1 a b c d e f g h 6 7

2 3 4 5 i j k l m 8 9 10 11

1 12v constant

2 LF+
3 LF-
4 RF+
5 RF-
6
7 ground
8 LR+
9 LR-
10 RR+
11 RR-

(only two small ones being used)

h 12v switched
i power antenna

Help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

I'm sorry, I probably should have been clearer...I need the info related to the radio, I don't have the 2002 Protege, I'm putting the radio into a 94 Mazda.

I'm putting the radio into a '94 Miata using a Scosche MA02. I know a wire to tap on the Miata for the dimming circuit (the miata net page was helpful). It's the head unit's adapter (MA03r) that's missing the dimming/illumination connection.

thank you

The dimming feature must not have been a part of the 02 vehicle's stereo.  At any rate, none of those wires need to be connected to each other for the head unit to function properly, and unless you really really want the dimming feature I would suggest just taping off the dimmer/illumination wires of your '94 miata and as long as the other connections are done properly it should work fine.
