I just bought a whole new system for my civic, and i'm going to start the install tomorrow. I know most of the basics, but I was wondering if anybody knew any specifics about replacing the front components, rear 6x9's, and installing amps in a 2001 civic coupe. I've heard that wiring the front speakers to an amp is a pain in the ass, and I was hoping somebody had a few tips. Thanks.

The wiring depends on whether or not you intend to use the factory speaker wiring.  If so, then it's just a matter of running speaker wires from the 4-channel amp back up to the head unit's harness where the factory speaker wiring is.  Then you'll use a honda speaker harness adapter to plug in to the plug at the factory 6.5 location.  You'll plug the factory speaker plug into the crossover's speaker input, and then run the wires from the crossover's output to the tweeter and woofer.

Sometimes you need a speaker adapter when you put in aftermarket speakers in this car. Sometimes you can get by with just modifying the factory bracket slightly, so that the aftermarket speaker's magnet will fit in. The problem with trying to mount the aftermarket speaker directly to the metal of the door panel is that then the magnet will be sticking into the door too far and the window will hit it.

do you have a couple or a sedan?  And which system did the car come with?
