honda civic stereo

I'm trying to install a pioneer head unit into my '95 civic. The battery wire on my head unit is yellow and is supposed to connect to the blue wire w/ white stripe that is coming from dash. The only problem is that there is no blue wire w/ white stripe, there's a white wire w/ a blue stripe. I hooked these two wires together and went back through and checked all the others but it still won't turn on. Is there anything that you know of that i should do.

I bet that the 7.5 amp fuse in the engine compartement fuse box is blowed. because u did it properly WHITE/ blue to yellow this head unit feed it's amp with the yellow wire result u are better to run this wire directly under dash with the proper fuse (see your booklet if fuse have been remove from original h/u) hook it to the big white wire comming from ignition column this one is constant 12 volt tell me if i am right glad to help u

Also you have to disconnect the neg wire on the battery b4 you even mess with any electrical work.I need quality equipment, feel free to donate.

Sure u are right to say disconect the battery first but usually on a civic under steering u may disconect the connector from the fuse box and u are unpowered at this time much easier to test with power.....
