I have been asked to install a Ford remote 6 CD changer from a 2000 F150 into an 03 Windstar. The changer has the harness from the unit which is supposed to interface with the radio somehow but does not match existing connectors. The Windstar has factory AM/FM/Cassette and all the buttons on the faceplate for a CD player. The normal 03 CD option is an in-dash 6 CD but the older ones had the remote 6 disc player option. The Ford dealer was no help on available wire harnesses to do the connections factory style but I've seen them on other Fords. There is an unused connector on the back of the Windstar radio to the right of the main one. Someone said it was for the rear radio control option and this unit is not compatible with an external CD player. The radio seems to "look" for the changer when you push the CD button and displys "no dj" or something similar. Is there a harness to do this or should I tell customer to upgrade to the in-dash 6 pack?
Thanks for any help offered.

You should be good to go. unplug the main harness into the radio...plug the changer into the radio (will only fit one spot)...the plug from the main harness that was in the cornor will plug into the changer harness about 1/4 of the way down. If your harness doesnt match this let me know the id tags on the harness...radio...and changer and I will let you know for sure. All I do is Ford warranty exchange radios

Thanks for the reply.
I pulled all the part numbers from the equipment involved.
03 Windstar Radio AM/FM/Cassette #2F22-19B132-AA
Clarion 6-CD CHANGER             #XW1F-18C830-AB
(Assy #XL1F-18C849-BE)
Cable to CD                      #19B113-P260G-AB
A second cable to CD was supplied but it is the same part number with "AC" as the last letters. The vehicle radio wiring harness has no other connectors other than the one that plugs into the radio so there must be another adapter harness to make it all work?
Thank you for the help.
