When you hear people refer to spl vehicles as "One Hit Wonders" it means that they perform the best and hit the hardest at one specific frequency.  Is this frequency called resonant frequency?  If not what is resonant frequency?  Also what is the name for the frequency at which a subwoofer and enclosure are designed to have optimal performance at?  How could you manipulate your enclosure to make your subs hit hard at either a specific frequency, or a wider range of frequency, for a sound quality setup?

Resonant Frequency - Frequency at which there is a response peak, due to a specific interaction of inductive and capacitive circuitry in an audio devise or system.
I believe that is what you were referring too with the "One Hit Wonders". It could also be referred to as the "Tuned Frequency" (I believe its called that) when you are referring to the particular freq. that a sub and enclosure are tunned for.
To change the response frequency, you can either change the dimensions, shape, or port length of the enclosure. Granted the port length can only be adjusted in Ported enclosures, as Sealed enclosures do not have "ports".
