Is there much difference between JL and Alpine component speakers?  Does one sound any better than the other?  How about durability?  I installed JL's XR570-CXi's up front and TR570-CXi's in back (2000 F150).  Not sure if I like the XR's, but I dont like the TR's.  Thinking about moving the XR's to the back and installing Alpine SPX 177A component speakers up front.  No amp or Sub installed yet either.  JL or Alpine?  Would appreciate some opinions.  Thanks for your help.

well i have some vr series and i love them, alpine stuff may sound slightly better to some ears but they can not handle any sorts of volume, i would stick with the xr's and if you have some serious dough to spend get some upper end fo-cal's

lol, i just read the part about no amp for the speakers.  I didnt even know that you could run xr  speakers and actully hear them without an amp.  Please i reccomend getting an amp for your speakers first, at leat 50 watts rms a channel.  This will make those speaker sound much clearer have much better bass and play much louder!

definately get a quality amp before you get speakers, , if you spend $500 on speakers and put sh!t through them, they will die or sound bad.  after the amp, i would go for the alpine spx series, they are WILD!!!!

I prefer Alpine components over JL... JL is good for bass but Alpine is better for sound
