i have a 96 ford explorer and i was wondering how you would find out if you have an amplifier in it or not and also if there is a way to bypass it without removing it?? thx

Have you got the market cornered on exploder's or what? How many have you got in the driveway anyhow? A good way to tell is what the plugs look like, is one rectangular and one square or do they both look the same? You can also check out www.installdr.com and pull up the diagram of the factory plugs to compare with. If you do have a built in amp, yes it can be bypassed with add on wire harnesses like the ones from www.scosche.com

i have a jbl 600.1 amp i was wondering if its well vented underneath the back seat so i could put my amp underneath it without it overheating.... what if i put like 2-4 fans?? thx... any other suggestions that could possibly be made about a stereo in the car would be great 2

You'll never know until you try it, I would try it as long as the amp does not make contact with the underside of the seat, the amp must have room for air to circulate. A fan will help but I would try it without first, then add if necessary. Other suggestions, go hard or go home, take out all gear and start from scratch in bigger vehicle with even more gear.
