Which would sound better pushing a pair of mb quart 218.61 Q and Infinity kappa 50.5cs's    an alpine mrv-f540     or a jl audio 300/4?

I would probably choose the JL, but would also consider an Xtant, Diamond or Eclipse, it is amazing the difference a good amp can make a crappy pair of speakers sound like, imagine what it can do to your good pair of Quarts.

I agree with Forbidden, you have some excellent speakers don’t skimp out on the amp. It may cost a little more, but it will defiantly make a huge difference when it comes to sound quality.

Can I pass on that showcase Bob... Alpine has made some really good equipment over the years, but like I said a good set of speakers deserve a really good amp, the Alpine is good, but not quite on par with the ones I listed or even some others that are available.

Depends on where they are made, if they are the new breed or made in singakoreachinatiawanapore, I would stay away, have a closer look to the ones I listed, most if not all are made in the US, have a higher current output, amazing sound quality and are not built to hit a price point (read cheaper parts).

So if i could get a jl audio 300/4 for $360 and a Eclipse  PA-5422 for $305, you would go with the eclipse?
