Testing Wires

Hi,

Anyone know the best way to test out which wires are which in the stereo harness? (without buying a wiring diagram?)

I know how to test for the ACC and Illumination, but how do I test for the Ground, Constant, and Remote?

Any help would be much appreciated.

You don't really have to buy the diagrams, they're on the net.  This site has some good diagrams, too.

Hi, Get a 12v test and a AAA battery and with the battery (of course your car battery disconnected)  hold one wire at the end and go through all of them one speaker should sound letting you know which one it is. go through all of them and find the speakers then remeber that ur ground is most of the time black if not use the 12v test buy one that looks it a screw driver and after that hook up the car battery and test for the constant power wire it's usually yellow but it should light up ur 12v test without turning on ur car so be careful not to blow fuse after that u'll have the acc that i already set was red. there should be two more wires a blue for attennna and illumtion wire that u don't really need.
