I just swapped out a Bose factory radio with a Kenwood deck, Sub amp and subs. For some reason after install, with switch on accessory, everything worked perfect. As soon as you switch the ignition on, my radio, amp and subs get power, but the factory amp does NOT come on. This must be a simple fix, as I used the same wiring harness from my 1997 GM truck with it, where I had no problems. Only difference is the Bose system in the Tahoe.

Thanks,

Thank you very much for the reply

There are two harnesses that go into the factory HU. We only interface with the 21 pin(?) harness I think. Is the orange wire located in this harness or the other smaller harness??

The factory amp turns on by triggering the green wire in the radio's plug with 12 volts. It is in the third cavity in the plug with the orange wire being in number one position.

RufNUSD--- You ARE  "THE MAN"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The orange wire from the OnStar small Fact. HU harness  was the ticket. Once it was energized with ign. switched Voltage--PRESTO- Problem Solved

BTW this works with the 9 speaker systems in the Yukons, Burbans, and Denalis. If you need a quick onstar solution let me know. 2001 tahoe bose radio power problem -- posted image.
