I have a 98 Chevy Suburban and i cant decide if I should upgrade to a better sub or get new speakers for the 6 3/4" openings in the doors. Right now all i have is an Alpine CDM - 9821,a Power Acoustik SP2X 300 amp ,and a JL Audio 12" W1 sub. I've been looking at boston (bottom of the line) coaxials and JL audio coaxials but im not sure about the sub. I dont have alot of money to spend($180 at most). I cant upgrade the amp right now either so it has to be pretty effecient because my power acoustik is only putting out 170 watts continuous. Any ideas would be great.

For $180 im sure you can find a local shop to get you 2 10 or 12 w0's in a box that would improve a bit

I say the best bang for your bucks would be to keep the sub you have now and upgrade your door speakers.  HERE's a suggestion and you can get two pairs for less than your $180 price point.

Cheers!

You already have sub bass, maybe not tons of it, but it is there, I would concentrate on a good set of door speakers.
Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
