Ive got an Eclipse aluminum 15 being pushed by an Alpine MRD-M500 and have NO trouble with lights dimming or nething. I have a 2000 4runner and it says on the fuse box under the hood it has a 120 amp alt.. So could i add another mrd-m500 without having to upgrade to a HO alt.?

well.... take 500 X 2 = 1000 which would be the RMS power in 2 ohms coming from  your amps ,then double it for amplifier inefficiency which equals 2000. Now divide by 13.8 which is the average voltage of an alternator which gives you about 145 then divide by three because the average music signal takes a third of the power that a test tone does and you get about 48 amps which is your amps approximate current draw. I think you should be ok probobly.

ya you'll be fine, i had 3 mrd-m500's runing this summer, and my voltage droped down to 12 v only at night while waiting at stop lights, and my Nissan Pathfinder has a old worn out 70 amp alt.
