Speaker Suggestions

Hey, everyone. I'm new here. Looks like alot of great info here.

I'm getting ready to replace the factory speakers in my wife's 1990 Toyota Corolla. Rears are 5 ¼" and the front are 4".   My problem is, everywhere I have looked up the stock size it says they are 4T and I have not been able to find anything like this. Will standard 4" speakers fit without any major modifications? From what I can tell they are in a plastic tub of some sort mounted from behind on the lower dash panels.

Also I am unsure of how the rears are mounted. They are in the usual above the deck pods like most imports these days. I can see the screws from under the rear deck in the truck, but if I remove the grill on top I can not see any screws.  Any help with either of these issues would be greatly appreciated.

Are the front speakers in the dash and pointing downwards? If this is the case I would recommend a speaker that has a good off axis response like the MB Quart DKE110. It is a basic co-ax, very good sounding, and will at least give you some top end that you can hear. Match the rear speakers with the same brand.

In some cases for the rear speakers, the speaker is actually molded into the mount, thus the speaker is also the mount. Make sure that this is not the case. Some pods are basic covers that snap or pry off to reveal the speaker mounting underneath, the pods also may be bolted down through the rear deck.
