I want to put my old 6x9s in my new car, but theres nowhere to put them.  I've decided to put them in a box/boxes in the trunk.  What i want to know is, what sort of boxe(s) should I build?  One box with both speakers built in, or a box for each speaker?  What size/shape would suit them best? Should they be ported?

I realise that boxes are usually used for subs.  My 6x9's are JL audio TR690-TX's.  60 watts continuous, 150 watts peak. thanks.

you can usually just buy premade boxes for 6x9's were as they need no support.

they will sound bad in the trunk. bass works in the trunk cause it goes thru your seats. and its non-directional. mids and highs need to face you as much as posible.

6X9 3-way speakers in the trunk = great sound for the spare tire.  What do you hope to accomplish here?  You will not be able to hear them.
